Jesus vs. Barabbas… A reflection!

Matthews 27 vs 21-22
21  So the governor asked them, “Which of the two men do you want me to release for you?” “Barabbas!” they replied.

22  Pilate asked them, “Then what should I do with Jesus, who is called the Messiah?” They all said, “Let him be crucified!”

It is quite worthy of note the kind of love the eternal Creator has for His creation.

What a depth of love he has to condescend to the place of man that he might liberate mankind forever.

It came clear to  me the kind of shame Jesus Christ took for you and I, the agony on the mountain praying for strength to fulfil the Father’s Will by  paying the everlasting price for man’s redemption.

He was accused without given a fair trial. I mean Jesus our saviour took the place of a prisoner that he might relate with them, giving them hope in despair.

Jesus did this, yes he has done it.
But, on his way to the final crucifix,  his people denied him, they preferred a notorious criminal Barabbas to their saviour.

How closed their eyes of understanding but don’t blame them, the Scripture must be fulfilled as it is written (Isaiah 53).

Do you know that you and I were once or may still be the Barabbas that notorious, unfaithful, cruel, sinful, perverse one Jesus came to take his place.

Christians were once like Barabbas in their hopeless estate , but Christ came to be crucified that they might regain freedom and be free from condemnation.

Note this, oh! saved Barabbas, Remember your saviour this day. Appreciate your saviour and herald the work of him that has come to save you.
Won’t you rather give all your life, time, energy, money to Him and for His purpose?

This is a call to all Christians and believers to remember Christ at all time, giving Him ourselves and telling it to others His works that SOME might be save… Go the extra mile for Christ sake.

To you who is yet to receive Jesus. He stands to take your place. Jesus waits still to accept you as you are… if only you will believe in Him, confess and be Saved from SIN!

Jesus loves you as you are!!! Run to Him friends. It is finished.

Happy Easter to you all!
